Welcome to our web site and Specialised Timber Products. We are a packaging company founded in 1995 in a 2000 sq./ft premises in Carnmore Co.Galway employing 4 people.  Today we employ 40  + people and have moved to a new state of the art new manufacturing premises in Athenry Co. Galway with 15,000sq. ft space.  We moved into our brand new premises in January 2000 and we are now seeing a steady increase in business volume and employee growth. We are now the biggest manufacturers of pallets in Ireland. 

The Company was founded by Managing Director Joe Dolan who has 25 years experience in the timber and carpentry profession.  Joe has built outstanding relationships over the years with many multi -national customers and has been responsible for many key designs for safe transportation of high valve products throughout the distribution chain worldwide.  Specialised also have a extensive fleet of transportation. 

Brian Rowan (BE. MBA) UCD is the operations Director and has many years experience with many multi-national companies.  Brian vast experience complements Joe technical skill in timber to create a powerful team for success.

The company has virtually no turnover of staff and most staff are trained carpenters with many years experience from previous wood manufacturers in the manufacturing of customised/slave/standard pallets/crates & cushioning systems.

Our location in Athenry on the outskirts of Galway City is an ideal location to develop a business in a young thriving town with a rapidly young growing population. Athenry is normally associated in song & the hurling game,  is an ancient market and historic medieval town set in the middle of the fertile plains of East Galway.  The town has narrow streets and well preserved buildings a  13th century castle and a beautiful heritage centre.
